A LITTLE SUNSHINE IN YOUR WINTER DAY

Wow, we have had a ton of snow fall this week and it inspired me to create this sunny card to brighten these snowy days.

There are always birthdays to cover even during the holidays so this one is sure to brighten someone’s special day.  I chose to use the Painted Harvest Bundle(it’s been sitting idle for a while) to play along with the What Will You Stamp challenge.

Here’s list of colours and products I used for this happy birthday card.

DON’T FORGET THOSE BIRTHDAYS!

Do you have birthdays that happen during the holidays?  Don’t forget to build your stash of birthday cards!  I took some time to create this one using our new Stampin’ Blends.

To get the layout for that lovely, bright flower, I followed along with CAS(E) this sketch.

It took 3 stamp sets to create the background and add the greeting but I loved every minute in creating this card.  Adding the Rhinestones just finished it off perfectly!

Holy cow, it’s November already so I created this card that showcases a simple flower for a birthday greeting.

Since it is November 1st, it’s time for you to order the new Stampin’ Blends from Stampin’ Up!  I use the Calypso Coral duo to colour this lovely flower to show you how easy it is to blend dark and light shades in one image.

The blends have a toal of 12 Stampin’ Up! colours for you to choose from and, if you want a little inspiration to get you started, the Color Me Happy Project Kit is available for purchase as well.

HERE’S YOUR BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE

Which do you prefer, cupcakes or a big cake for your birthday?  I like both but decided to create today’s card with just one delicious looking cupcake!

I am playing along with The Paper Players sketch and that one delicious cupcake is the focal point for the sketch.  Our Glitter Enamel Dots make the perfect cherry on top!  These dots are great because they go from dark to light in the same colour family so they add a bit more interest to your project.

A PERFECT YELLOW ROSE

Where can you find a perfect yellow rose at this time of the year?  Well, on today’s card, that’s where!

I used the Graceful Garden stamp set and stamped it’s large, perfect rose with Basic Gray Archival ink and then coloured it in with Stampin’ Write Markers.  That lovely layout comes from Freshly Made Sketches which is the perfect way to show off that rose!  If you’d like to create something with this great sketch, here it is for you.

COFFEE TOGETHER FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY

Let’s have coffee together to celebrate your birthday!  That’s what this cute card says!

I used several different designs from the Coffee Break Designer series paper for the background and then layered two great cups of coffee over them.  The top cup was cut out of a piece of the designer paper and the one underneath was cut from Shimmery White cardstock.  I used the Touches of Texture stamp set to add the design to make that cup seems authentic.

The Coffee Break Designer series paper is just one of the great buys from the Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer from Stampin’ Up!  This sale goes until October 31, 2017 and is a great way to build up your designer paper stash!  See all of the designs on my Website.

HERE’S TO YOUR BUBBLY STYLE

You’ve Got Style with your bubbly personality!  This card says it in style for sure.

The You’ve Got Style stamp set is just plain fun to work with and I love this lady with her colourful style.  I had a ton of fun colouring her with our Stampin’ Up! inks, an Aqua Painter as well as a few choice colours from our Stampin’ Write Markers. The kitty cat just finishes things off perfectly.

The layout for this card came from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and is the perfect way to highlight this styling’ lady.

Here’s the list of products that I used.  Caution – it’s a long one.

PAINTED HARVEST – FRAMED

Happy Monday!  I thought that I would start the week with this card created with the Painted Harvest Bundle and matching Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.

This card involved 3 different techniques, wow!  Ok, technique number 1 is heat embossing.  I felt that the flower looked a little too washed out so added some Clear Emboss Powder to brighten it up.

Technique number 2 is masking.  In order to have the flower stand out, I first stamped it onto a post-it note and then cut it out.  Then it was easy to add the fern sprays so they would look like they are on the back of the flower.

Technique number 3 is “partial die-cutting” which means that after the stamped image was finished, I laid one of the circle dies over it and marked the edges lightly with a pencil.  After doing that I carefully cut around the fern sprays so I could have them sitting over top of the die while the circle was being cut through the Big Shot.

Then, it was just a matter of adding the extra leaves and the greeting to finish things off.

That piece of designer paper from the Painted Autumn package could be yours when you order from the Designer Series Paper Special BUY 3 GET 1 FREE.
