GLITTERY SNOWFLAKES TO MAKE YOU SMILE

Hello to a fresh new week and some glittery snowflakes to make you smile.

I started out with a completely different idea for Freshly Made Sketches, but since it is frosty outside, decided that these gold embossed snowflakes should be the way to go.

TIP:  Make sure to give the cardstock a good wipe with the Embossing Buddy before you stamp your images.

The Colorful Seasons bundle has the perfect snowflake stamp and matching snowflake thinlits so I put the Big Shot to work!  That lovely greeting is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set, so this card can easily be a Christmas card by adding the holiday greeting inside or a lovely all occasion card.

Here’s the list or products that I used.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FRIEND

It’s Thanksgiving day here in Canada so here are wishes for a happy and delicious day to my Canadian friends.

That’s a busy, but fun background piece from the Painted Autumn designer series paper but I was able to tone it down a bit with those pretty leaves and the greeting cut-out.

I really like the combination of Crushed Curry and Early Espresso, as it seems to say fall so nicely.

Here is the list of products that I used and don’t forget that the World Card Making Day Sale ends on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017.

PRETTY FALL FLOWERS

Fall is a colourful time of year with its pretty fall flowers and beautifully coloured leaves!  That’s what I tried to capture for today’s project.

I thought it best to start out with a clean card base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I went from there with the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, the colour choices from Create with Connie and Mary as well as the theme challenge from The Paper Players.

I also used the Colorful Seasons Bundle so I could use the matching leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  They are lovely aren’t they?  And this stamp set is just one of the items on for 15% off for the World Cardmaking Day specials good until October 10, 2017!

BEHIND THE LENS

Behind the lens with cameras, cameras everywhere!  I though that a very appropriate title for today’s busy card.

These patterns are from the Pick A Pattern Designer series paper and I’ve been itching to play with them.  The light came on when I grabbed Marquee Message from the shelf – perfect for my idea!

I stamped the word “awesome” directly onto the designer paper with the Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, added the Versamark.  A little Clear Emboss powder and the Heat Tool and voila!  The rest of the greeting was stamped onto a thin piece of whisper white cardstock and then I added the camera and Rhinestones just for fun.

THE HARVEST

Hello to you and welcome to my harvest post!  Today’s card shows off some beautiful designer paper as well as some lovely leaves from the September Paper Pumpkin kit.

I’m playing along with The Paper Players challenge and used our fabulous Thick Very Vanilla cardstock for the card base.  The September Paper Pumpkin kit delivered up some beautiful leaves and I just couldn’t resist using them for the focal point on this card.  The greeting is thanks from the Painted Harvest stamp set.

If you have been thinking about checking out what Paper Pumpkin is all about, go to my Website to check out the sign up options.

Have a great autumn day and Happy Stamping!

A LATTÈ HAPPINESS

Today’s card shows off the fun Coffee Cafè Bundle and matching Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.  I also have a little tutorial for you that shows how to do the Masking Technique.

Isn’t it cute?  I got my start with the great sketch by CAS(E) this sketch and went from there.  If you look very closely, you can see a shimmer on the foam over the cup – that foam was cut from a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Now, on to the tutorial.  If you want to add just a few words from the greeting in the stamp set, just cover the ones you don’t want with pieces of scotch tape as shown in the picture,

Then remove the tape and stamp the word onto your piece of cardstock.

It’s a simple and clean way to add just the right word or phrase to your project!

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN

It’s hard, but I’ve decided that autumn has to been my favourite time of year.  It’s the colours of the season that say it for me…the rusty colours of the leaves touched with the muted yellow of the sun!  The bringing in of the harvest.  This is what I tried to portray in today’s card.

Cajun Craze is such a lovely, rich colour and that is why I started with it for the card base.  The Painted Autumn designer paper has a couple of pages full of pumpkins so I cut one out to add to the bundle of leaves.  This is all done to play along with the Stampin’ Up! Only(SUO) challenge and it did take 3 stamp sets to get it “right” but I’m very happy with the outcome.

The background was stamped using the Touches of Texture stamp set and I used the “stamping off” technique to get the muted tones of Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  The leaves have a touch of Always Artichoke thrown in because some haven’t quite finished turning colour yet.

PRETTY ORCHIDS JUST FOR YOU

Do you like Orchids?  They just seem to say something exotic don’t they?  Todays card shows off a few with a little heat embossing.

The Paper Players posted a great Colour Challenge that includes, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Silver and White so I went for it!  I wanted to use the Climbing Orchid Bundle so checked out the card sketch from CAS(E) this sketch and went from there.

The silver on my card is the mat behind those pretty pink orchids and I combined White and Silver emboss powder(about 1/2 tsp of each colour) to get that muted colour for the flower centres and the greeting.

Here’s a copy of the sketch in case you’d like to play along as well.
