A TUTORIAL FOR YOU TODAY

Good morning and my apologies for being short on posts this week.  I have been working on a tutorial for you to create this “waterfall” gift card holder.

waterfall-side-view-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

You will need to cut 2 pieces of Cherry Cobbler card stock at 5-1/2″ x 10″.  Score the long side at 4″, 6″ and 8″ and then trim from the top to 2-1/2″ so you end up with 2 triangular pieces that looks like the picture below.

waterfall-centre-adhesive-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

Apply the Tear & Tape adhesive as shown above and attach both pieces so you end up with a long piece as shown below.

waterfall-together-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

Now add the Designer paper of your choice ( I used This Christmas DSP).  You will need 2 pieces each that measure 2″ x 3-1/2″ , 2″ x 4-1/2″ and 2″ x 5-1/2″.  Adhere them with SNAIL adhesive and then trim with your Paper Snips.

waterfall-trim-dsp-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

Create the inside pocket using Whisper White card stock and then add the Tear and Tape to the back on 3 sides so you have an opening for the Gift Card.

Once you have adhered it to the centre of the card you will need to create a band to keep it closed.  I used a 1″ x 11″ piece and fitted it over the closed card to make the folds.

waterfall-create-band-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

Use Tear & Tape Adhesive a shown to ensure that the band is secured and won’t come apart.

Once you have completed the band, create a cute tag to place on the centre.  I used one of the great verses from the Tin of Tags stamp set.waterfall-gift-card-holder-finished-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

And, there you have it.  Something for you to do over the weekend!

PRETTY BOXES FOR SPECIAL GIFTS

Hi and welcome.  Today’s post is all about gold and silver and a pretty gift box.

golden-gift-box-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

I loved the colour challenge posted by The Paper Players for this week and decided that creating this gift box was the way to go.  Who says you can’t use gold and silver at the same time!

The Christmas Magic and Thin of Tags stamp sets are going away very soon so this was the perfect opportunity to use them.  (See the Year-end Closeout items HERE)

Here’s another angle showing those pretty golden bells.

Yes, I cut each one out with my Paper Snips!

Notice the tiny dots?  I used the 1/8″ Hand-held punch and then glued each one on using the Fine-tip glue pen.

Here’s the full list of products that I used in case you’d like to try this yourself.  The White Gift Boxes are the perfect solution for small gifts or even some chocolate treats!

GETTING GIFT TAGS READY FOR HOLIDAY GIFTS

Hello there and I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  In between getting the Christmas decorations out I made time to get these gift tags ready for tomorrow night’s class.

These tags measure 5″ x 2-1/2″ and the products that I used from the Holiday catalogue are on the Year-end closeouts list.  Several of these items are retiring and are guaranteed to be available until December 21st – after that, only while supplies last and discontinued after January 3, 2017.  See the items HERE.  They are conveniently divided into sections to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Do you have a recipe for the best chocolate chip cookies?  Last week we got together to create some gifts for Christmas giving and made this jar of ingredients to make the best chocolate chip cookies.

cookies-in-a-jar-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

What better stamp set to use than the Cookie Cutter Christmas set and the matching Candy Cane Lane designer paper!  The label measures 6″ x 5-1/2″ (folded at 2-3/4″) to hold the recipe for these delicious cookies.  Adding a candy cane is the “icing on the cookie”, LOL.

This is a simple gift to create – all you need is a quart jar to hold the ingredients.

Here’s the list of products that we used.

PLANNING AHEAD WITH COOKIE CUTTER CHRISTMAS AND MARQUEE MESSAGES

Are you planning ahead for your Christmas Dinner?  We get together as a family at my house for Christmas dinner so this year I decided to send out a fun invitation.  I paired Marquee Messages with the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle to create these.

christmas-dinner-invitation-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

The Colour inspiration is from this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.create-colour-challenge

My cherry cobbler shows up in the background mat of the Warmth & Cheer designer paper and I used gold to highlight the invitation greeting.

The inside of the card shows what the invitation is all about.

It was simple typed out on my laptop and then printed on regular printer paper.  I think my family will enjoy getting these in the mail, don’t you?

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A PINK POINSETTIA

Have you ever seen pink poinsettias?  I have and that was the inspiration for this non-traditional coloured Christmas card.

pink-poinsettia-www-cynthiascreativecorner-com

The Reason for the Season stamp set has two beautiful poinsettia flower and I chose this one.  It was first stamped with the Mint Macaron ink and then I coloured the flower with our Blushing Bride  Stampin’ Up! marker.  The colour combination in Blooms and Bliss Designer series paper helped with the colour picks.

It needed a little bling so I added some Fancy Frost Sequins to finish it off.  Now, I think I have all the Christmas cards I need for this season and it’s time to get them all ready and in the mail.
