A SUNSHINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Today’s card highlights a happy, “sunshiney” daisy for a bright and pretty birthday greeting.

I played with the Happy Birthday thinlits die for this one.  Did you know that you can carefully cut the words apart to change the placement to fit your project?  Just a few snips in the right places enabled me to place those happy words just where I wanted them.

I got the idea from the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this sketch .

The letters from the birthday greeting are my interpretation of the scallop on the bottom.

THE BEE HAS IT

This bee does have it for sure.  I created today’s card in black, white and crushed curry as a step away from Christmas colours.

And yes, I fussy cut that tiny bee because he just needed to be there!

I followed along with The Paper Players sketch for perfect placement of those lovely designs from the Pick a Pattern package which is ideal for creating many different card or scrapbook page styles.

IT’S TIME TO CREATE THOSE GIFT TAGS

Good day and I’m sharing the Mini Pizza Box with a bright gift tag for today’s project.

There was a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock on my table to it went into the Big Shot with the Layering Circles dies.  I didn’t stop there though, the Seasonal Layers and Card Front Builder dies were also calling, so we have snowflakes and a tree to add to this tag.

The greeting comes from the Seasonal Bells stamp set and I coloured it direct to stamp with a Real Red and Garden Green marker before it was cut out with Paper Snips.

All of this was put together using our Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The band for the Mini Pizza Box was cut to 1″ x 10″ and folded around the pizza box.  I attached the ends of the band using a small piece of our Tear & Tape Adhesive.  I plan on putting a gift card inside this box, but you could add some candy as the box is Food Safe!

HERE’S YOUR BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE

Which do you prefer, cupcakes or a big cake for your birthday?  I like both but decided to create today’s card with just one delicious looking cupcake!

I am playing along with The Paper Players sketch and that one delicious cupcake is the focal point for the sketch.  Our Glitter Enamel Dots make the perfect cherry on top!  These dots are great because they go from dark to light in the same colour family so they add a bit more interest to your project.

BEHIND THE LENS

Behind the lens with cameras, cameras everywhere!  I though that a very appropriate title for today’s busy card.

These patterns are from the Pick A Pattern Designer series paper and I’ve been itching to play with them.  The light came on when I grabbed Marquee Message from the shelf – perfect for my idea!

I stamped the word “awesome” directly onto the designer paper with the Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, added the Versamark.  A little Clear Emboss powder and the Heat Tool and voila!  The rest of the greeting was stamped onto a thin piece of whisper white cardstock and then I added the camera and Rhinestones just for fun.

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN

It’s hard, but I’ve decided that autumn has to been my favourite time of year.  It’s the colours of the season that say it for me…the rusty colours of the leaves touched with the muted yellow of the sun!  The bringing in of the harvest.  This is what I tried to portray in today’s card.

Cajun Craze is such a lovely, rich colour and that is why I started with it for the card base.  The Painted Autumn designer paper has a couple of pages full of pumpkins so I cut one out to add to the bundle of leaves.  This is all done to play along with the Stampin’ Up! Only(SUO) challenge and it did take 3 stamp sets to get it “right” but I’m very happy with the outcome.

The background was stamped using the Touches of Texture stamp set and I used the “stamping off” technique to get the muted tones of Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  The leaves have a touch of Always Artichoke thrown in because some haven’t quite finished turning colour yet.

ADD A LITTLE MUSIC TO YOUR DAY

Do you like to listen to music when you’re stamping?  I do and, it may sound early, but a little Christmas music while stamping doesn’t hurt either.  That’s what I was doing while creating this card.

I used the Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies to create that lovely frame on the card front and then backed it with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The Carols of Christmas stamp set added the happy greeting decorated with those tiny poinsettias.  The musical background piece is from the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper and it was cut to fit inside that pretty frame.  This is one of the cards we will be making at next Tuesday’s card class – want to join in?  Just Click on the Sign Up button and I’ll make a space for you.

I have lots of classes scheduled so make sure that you check them all out and let me know that you want to join in on the stamping fun.
