SPRING FLOWERS ARE ON THE WAY

Spring flowers are coming soon – we, in Northeastern BC just have to wait a little longer.  BUT…….when you have some beautiful designer paper handy you can make your own garden of spring flowers!

I used a modified version of the “Spotlight” technique for this by using the layering circles dies to cut out an assortment of flowers on scraps of the Flowers for Every Season designer paper(152486).  And then added those pretty frames to highlight them.

The theme challenge from The Paper Players was the inspiration for this flower-laden card!

WONDERFUL SUNFLOWERS

Today’s card features the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle(154065) and is laden with those big wonderful blooms!

I had lots of fun using our Stampin’ Blends for this pair and can hardly wait until later in the year when we see the real thing in full bloom.  To me, they are such happy flowers!

Here’s the list of products used.  And just a note that you won’t be able to purchase this as a bundle when the new catalogue is live!  So why not save 10% now by getting the bundle.

FEATURING THE JAR OF FLOWERS BUNDLE

Today’s card ties in with the Easter holiday that’s coming up with it’s bright and happy jar of flowers!

The month of April is full of birthdays for our family so it was time to stock up!  The Jar of Flowers Bundle(154064) will no longer be a bundle in the new catalogue, so I recommend that you get it now in order to save 10%.  I also used the Prettiest Birthday stamp set to add that lovely greeting.

The top of the jar looked a little too plain, so I wrapped it with a length of Braided Linen Trim(147808).

Here’s the list of products used.  Note:  I used the Seaside Spray Stampin’ Write Marker for the tiny flowers.

A DIFFERENT COLOUR COMBO

This card is a different colour combination for me.  I wasn’t sure about it but it has “grown on me”.

The card base is the soon to be retired Rococo Rose 2019-2021 InColor.  I added some Blackberry Bliss with the circles and that is what had me wondering about the colours.  But, as I said, it has grown on me especially with the colourful dragonflies!  They were punched out of the Dandy Garden designer paper(154297).  I also punched out some of the tiny dragonflies with basic white and then glued the images from the paper over top.  The only stamping on this card is the greeting from the Many Messages Bundle(156272).

Before I get to the products list, the RETIRING LIST will be posted later today.  Make sure to check it out on my FACEBOOK PAGE to see which items you need to get before they are gone!

BALLONS FOR A BIRTHDAY

Welcome to a brand new week and a brand new birthday card.  The Prettiest Birthday bundle(156247) is so pretty and fun to use with it’s pretty images!

I matted this card with a piece from the Playing with Patterns designer paper(152490) to mimic the balloons.  I also decided not to colour those balloon so they would stand out with that delicious-looking cake.  What flavour do you think it is?  I’m thinking chocolate!

This card was inspired by the latest challenge from SUO Challenges to use food or drink as the theme and in my mind, chocolate cake is it’s own food group, lol!

A WISH FOR YOU

Today’s project features an old favourite of mine, Forever Blossoms(151457).

Those beautiful blossoms were coloured with Highland Heather, Old Olive and a touch of Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends combos. When finished with the colouring, I decided to shine it up so stamped the entire image with Versamark and then added Clear Emboss Powder.  Isn’t it great how it brightened it up?

I wanted a pretty font for the greeting so borrowed it from the Prettiest Birthday stamp set(154458) that’s in the January – June Catalogue.

I haven’t played along with The Paper Players in a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to use their Colour Challenge.

HERE’S TO A BRIGHT YELLOW BIRTHDAY

Hello and a very Happy St. Patrick’s day to you!  I’m sharing this bright yellow birthday card with a touch of green for the occasion.

The main panel was done with a water painter and the Daffodil Delight ink refill and boy did it turn out bright!  So, I stamped those bundle of flowers from the Ornate Style Bundle(154119) with versamark and gave them a sprinkle of White Emboss Powder to make them stand out.  Those touches of green are the tiny leaves that I coloured with the Granny Apple Green marker.

Have you noticed the SquareVellum Doilies(152484) in the annual catalogue?  They’re on page 153 and make a great subtle background.

CHECK OUT THE HIDDEN MESSAGE

I took some time over the weekend to play a little bit more with the Kangaroo & Company Bundle(156269).

Sometimes it’s fun to take inspiration from the picture in the catalogue and so I used the image on page 17!  Did you know that you can use the slit in the Kangaroo’s pouch to hide a message?  That’s what I did for this cute card.

It always helps to use another stamp set to add the extra touch so out came the Forever Fern Bundle(154094)  and the Always Dies(154307) for the tiny white flowers.

ONE SWEET BIRTHDAY

Welcome to the month of March!  This month is traditionally our “transition into spring month” so it can be interesting when it comes to March weather!  It’s lovely to look out the window and see sunshine while playing around with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle(156214) however!

Notice the background mat?  I pulled out a design from the Forever Greenery designer paper(152492) and love the different contrast.  To me, it really makes the little scene pop.

I stamped the strawberries with Real Red ink stamping off for the inside.  Then touched up the seeds with the Basic Black Marker.  The rest involved both stamping and colouring with Stampin’ Blends.

FOR YOU WITH LOVE

Well, it’s Friday already – time does fly by doesn’t it?  So today’s card features the Prettiest Birthday Bundle(156247).

I kept it pretty simple and used the flower bouquet image along with that pretty gift bag.  An what better way to celebrate than with a pretty swag for decoration!  These were easy to colour with the Stampin’ Blends and also very easy to cut out with their matching dies.  I couldn’t just leave the background plain so slipped the card base into the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder(154317).

I’m playing along with the new Freshly Made Sketches layout for this one.

Here’s the product list.  I used a piece of the Oh So Ombre designer paper from Sale-A-Bration for the band so make sure to check it out.
