ALL GEARED UP FOR A BIRTHDAY

Hi and welcome to today’s all geared up post!  My nephew-in-law has a birthday coming up and since he is an avid dirt biker I thought that the Geared Up Garage bundle was perfect for him.

The background paper is from the Classic Garage designer paper stack and is, unfortunately, sold out.  My apologies for that but it did make a great background for those gears.  They were cut out from Sahara Sand cardstock and then I decided to brush them with a little Crumb Cake ink and a stamping sponge.  Gears are usually greasy, right?

TIP:  I used a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the Burlap Ribbon piece.  Which means that there is no chance of it coming off!

Here’s the list of products used.

As I reminded you yesterday, the Last Chance products are going quickly!  Check them out HERE.

SO MUCH HAPPY IN A LITTLE CARD

It’s a great day when infused with so much happy isn’t it?  Today’s card has a big happy in it for the birthday person!

The Lemon Lime Twist cardstock is one of the 2017-2019 InColors that is going away soon, so I wanted to use it for this card.  Of course when a new catalogue comes out the designer paper in the old one goes away too so I used up a scrap piece from the Broadway Bound package for this bright and happy birthday card.

I followed along with the new sketch from CAS(E) this sketch for the layout which was perfect for using the Layering Alphabet Edgelits dies.  TIP:  it’s easy to use them as individual letters when trimmed with Paper Snips.

Here’s the products list for you.

DAFFODILS FOR A BIRTHDAY

It’s almost daffodil season up here in northeastern BC and I can hardly wait to see them poke their pretty heads through the soil!  In the meantime, I made my own bundle of daffodils for a birthday greeting.

The You’re Inspiring stamp setis on the Retiring Last Chance List so I had to get one last card made with it!  It’s available in both clear-mount and wood-mount depending on which you prefer.

The daffodil image is perfect for colouring with our Stampin’ Blends and I added a bit of Pumpkin Pie as a highlight.

SIMPLY SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CARD

Welcome and I hope that you had a happy Easter weekend.  I did find time to get some stamping done and have this simple birthday  card to share with you.

The Humming Along Bundle is one of the items that will not be returning in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue so I gave it a little love with that amazing greeting and label.

CAS(E) this sketch posted this simple layout which made my choices easy!

The Floral Romance Specialty Designer series paper is going away to and I couldn’t resist layering two of the designs for the centre strip.

Here’s the list of products used.  Just a “refresh” for you, the Stamping Sponges and Silicone Craft sheet are listed as I used them to apply the Liquid Multipurpose Glue the the sheer top sheet on the centre strip.

RED HOT ROD FOR MY GRANDSON

Well, I was disappointed to see that the Geared Up Garage Bundle is going away soon.  It’s a great set so I made good use of it to create this card for my youngest grandson’s birthday.

He’s turning 5 and is crazy about cars!  And what better way to delight him than with this bright red hot rod!  The greeting comes from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set which is also on the Retirement list.

EASTERN BEAUTY TODAY

Hello from Cynthia’s Creative Corner!  I went to the soon to be retiring InColor Fresh Fig for today’s card using the Eastern Beauty stamp set and matching Eastern Medallion thinlits for today’s card.

I think it looks beautiful paired up with the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series paper.  (2019 Occasions Catalogue)

CAS(E) this sketch posted this layout,

which is where I got the inspiration to match up these two lovely products!

TIP:  This colour, Fresh Fig as well as the rest of the 2017 – 2019 InColors are going away soon, so my advice to you is to stock up your favourites soon!

GARAGE IN A BOX

Happy April Fool’s Day!  Today’s post is no joke though!  I had fun creating this Garage in a box for card class tomorrow night.

The request was to make cards for kids and since kids like lots of colour and shapes this card should be perfect!

The Geared up Garage Cling bundle and matching Classic Garage Designer Series Paper Stack was lots of fun to play with! The greeting from Postcard Pals matched really well with the garage theme too!  I found the pattern for this on Splitcoast Stampers at this link and adjusted the measurements so it would fit into our Stampin’ Up! medium envelopes(107301).

SWEET WISHES IN A CUPCAKE

Are you a fan of cupcakes?  I really enjoy those delicious little cakes and added two of those sweet treats to today’s card.

It’s fabulous to have the Call Me Cupcake Framelits dies, they made it so easy to adorn this card with sweet treat wishes and those tiny flowers.

I followed the layout from Freshly Made Sketches which made it so easy to add all of the elements for this sweet card.

PAINTED SEASONS DISTINKTIVE

Good day to you and welcome!  Today’s post features another Distinktive stamp set that’s available as a qualifying Free choice from the 2nd Sale-A-Bration release.

It’s the Painted Seasons Bundle (150349) that includes some fabulous designer series paper.

I chose to use just the stamped images for this card.

Love that flower!  I used the masking technique to add that spray of leaves and another technique which you saw in the video I posted last week.  The flower image was inked up with Melon Mambo ink and then I added Pumpkin Pie ink using a sponge dauber.  The same technique was used on the leaves using Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover ink.

CAS(E) this sketch posted this sketch this week and that is why my card is so clean and simple.

THOUGHTS OF YOU

Welcome and thank you for visiting today!  Do you scroll around through Pinterest for ideas?  I sometimes do and found a beautiful card that uses the Climbing Roses cling bundle. Well, I decided to re-create it myself and this is what I came up with.

I started off by using the Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers and an Aqua Painter to colour those beautiful roses.  I applied the colour with the markers and then used the Aqua Painter to spread and lighten it.  You can also pick up the colour from the marker tip and apply it that way.  Either method works very well.

The rest was putting together these lovely colours and adding a piece of the Grapefruit Grove Organdy Ribbon from the Combo Pack that’s in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

Here’s the list of products used.

I hope that you are inspired to give this colouring method a try, it’s not as hard as it sounds.
