SUNSHINE AND ROSES

It may be very cold up here in northeastern BC, but when the sun shines, it lights up the mood!  So, it also inspired me to pull out the To A Wild Rose Bundle and get creating.

I decided to play around with our Pigment Sprinkles and love the way the different colours add highlights to those pretty roses.  It just seemed appropriate to give them a white edge, so out came the Versamark and White Emboss Powder.  TIP:  I used the Heat Tool to dry the paper after the sprinkles making it much easier to add the heat embossing!

The new Freshly Made Sketches layout came into play here with a piece of the Peaceful Poppies DSP and a small side plate to cut the rounded edge.

HONEY BEE BUNDLE

The Honey Bee Bundle is another stamp set that I smiled at while browsing through the new 2020 Occasions Mini Catalogue.  And, the matching dies make it so easy to create a busy bee hive!

There’s also the beautiful Golden Honey Specialty designer paper from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to amp things up to a whole new level!  I used a piece for the background on this card.  You can earn this beautiful paper pack with just a $60 purchase!

I wanted to play along with The Paper Players first challenge of the new year.  So this card is the “something new” that I’m playing along with!

ALL OF ME LOVES ALL OF YOU

All of Me Loves All of You – what a beautiful sentiment for that special someone!  And I think that this card will make a lovely Valentine greeting with that beautiful sentiment.

I’ve been using the Forever Blossoms bundle(153781) again – I just love everything about it and the flowers are so easy to colour!

In order to show off a bit more of the beautiful Parisian Blossoms design paper, I followed along with the new CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

THIS BIRTHDAY IS NOT FOR THE BIRDS

Hello there and welcome!  I’ve been quiet lately and focussing on Christmas with my family!  I did finally have some time to stamp and created this pretty bird infused birthday card.

There’s always a need for birthday cards in our family and this one has a nice touch of spring to help add a little lightness to our winter.

I used a Sale-A-Bration set, Happy Birthday to You for the greeting because I love the font!

Here’s the list of products used.  Just a note – the Sale-A-Bration set will not be available until January 3, 2020!

RED ROSES FOR A DECEMBER BIRTHDAY

I’ve been having a lot of fun creating with new stamp sets and accessories from the Spring Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogues!

Today’s card with the cake covered in Red Roses is especially pretty!

This is the Happy Birthday to You set that’s a FREE choice ($60 purchase) from page 8 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.  It’s perfect for using the Stampin’ Blends!  I chose red to colour those lovely flowers as this card is for my daughter and she loves red!

The background mat showcases the Country Floral 3D embossing folder which works perfectly with the rose theme.

TO A WILD ROSE

Happy Monday and a warm welcome to you!  I recently added the To A Wild Rose bundle to my stamp library and got right to work with it.

It’s so very pretty so to get started with it, I CASE’d the card on page 140 of the annual catalogue.  I used an Old Olive card base as the starting point and used the Corrugated embossing folder to add some texture.

Masking is he technique used here to make it easier to add those extra blooms.  Just use the die to cut out one flower and place it over the first stamped bloom.  Easy!

THE BEST CATCH EVER

Hi there and thank you for visiting today!  I’m going to finish off the week with the Best Catch Ever.  Hint: it’s all about fishing.

There’s nothing more exciting that having “the one” on your line after a long day at the lake!  This was created with the Best Catch and Waterfront stamp sets to follow along with the new Freshly Made Sketches layout.

I used the “water” stamp from Waterfront for the background to play into the “scribble in the background of the sketch and the rest just came together.

Note: I do not yet have the matching dies for Best Catch, so fussy-cut the fish.

PEACEFUL BOUGHS MAKE A PRETTY CARD

Happy day to you and welcome!  Today’s card features the very pretty Peaceful Boughs bundle and a simple technique.

I used the Crumb Cake ink pad to stamp those pinecones and then over-stamped them with the Celestial Copper Delicata metallic ink.  I think that it gives them a nice subtle sheen.

In my mind, you can’t add pinecones without a few red berries, so out came the Flourish dies for that.

The technique I used was the colour the White Baker’s Twine with the Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend.  The colour goes on so smoothly and there’s no waiting for it to dry.  Perfect!

POLAR BEAR HAVEN

Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features Polar Bears and my version of the Northern Lights.  I used lots of dies to create this scene as well as the Still Stencil Technique.

The bright background used the Still Stencil Technique to get that colourful sky.  I sprinkled the gorgeous grape from the Pigment Sprinkles over a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and then spritzed it really well.  Then I laid the cloud stencil over top and let it dry.  TIP:  It’s really important to use a little extra water so the stencil will lay firmly on the colours to transfer the design.

Then I pulled out lots of dies to create the polar bear family on the snow and ice.  That vignette is layered behind a piece of a Window Sheet and then the sky background was attached using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

This all started with the challenge from The Paper Players this week and I’m pretty happy with the way it all turned out.

Here’s the very long list of products used.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Birds of a feather flock together – I think that’s how the quote goes, but today it’s just one little bird standing alone!

I took inspiration from one page of the Bird Ballad designer paper that shows rows and rows of feathers with all of it’s lovely bright colours.

Since I still had the tray of inks and an Aqua Painter sitting on the table, it just seemed right to colour that little bird with those colours(Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape) with a hint of Smokey Slate.  It’s easy to use our Ink Refills and I encourage you to take a look at all of the different colour families.

The layout is compliments of the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week.
