BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Birds of a feather flock together – I think that’s how the quote goes, but today it’s just one little bird standing alone!

I took inspiration from one page of the Bird Ballad designer paper that shows rows and rows of feathers with all of it’s lovely bright colours.

Since I still had the tray of inks and an Aqua Painter sitting on the table, it just seemed right to colour that little bird with those colours(Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape) with a hint of Smokey Slate.  It’s easy to use our Ink Refills and I encourage you to take a look at all of the different colour families.

The layout is compliments of the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week.

THANK YOU FLOWERS

I went to flowers for today’s card.  Just to ease the “pain” of seeing snow in our yard this week.

It’s a study in greens for this pretty thank you card for sure.  I combined the Floral Essence stamp set with the greeting from the Bloom & Grow stamp set to come up with this.

There was a lot of fussy cutting involved but I do love the way it turned out.  The flowers and greeting were stamped with the new Golden Glitz Delicata metallic ink(150711) that’s in the Holiday Catalogue.  I think it adds a very pretty look to the card!

The thanks theme is from playing along with The Paper Players Challenge for this week.

JUST TAG IT

Today’s card is all about tags – lots of tags!

Isn’t that fun?  I got the idea from a post by Mary Fish who used the Tailored Tag punch to create her card so I decided to give it a go myself!

I used this really cute design from the Come to Gather DSP from the Holiday Catalogue and put it all together like a puzzle.  TIP: Make sure that you check the pattern of the DSP so it all goes on the right way!

The card base is Grapefruit Grove because I thought that it worked really well with Cajun Craze.  The greeting label needed a bit of a boost so I added that pretty little trinket from the Bird Ballad collection.

THERE’S A CERTAIN BEAUTY IN COPPER

Hi and welcome!  Today’s post contains a card created using the new Celestial Copper Delicata Mettalic Ink!  It is so easy to use and makes the images pop!

Of course, why not add a bit of the Copper-Foil to add a bit more pop!  I used the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder for it as well as the Subtle Embossing folder on the card front.

This card was so much fun to put together for the Freshly Made Sketches layout.  It all came together so perfectly.

LAYERED THANKS WITH BLOOM AND GROW

Happy Monday and welcome!  We had a very cold and rainy weekend so I pulled out the Bloom and Grow Photopolymer stamp set and coloured some pretty flowers.  A girl has to do something to get rid of the grey skies blues, lol!

I started out by colouring the flowers on a piece of Whisper White that measured 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Then stamped the flowers again on a piece that measured 3″ x 3-1/4″ and coloured them as well.  Then it was just a matter of placing the Thank You die just so and cutting it out.

Here’s the side view for you.  TIP:  I cut the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals into tiny pieces in order to pop the die-cut up.

The layout is simple and comes from this week’s CAS(E) this sketch challenge.

I was delighted to be chosen as an Honourable Mention from last week’s CAS(E) this sketch with this card.

A WREATH FOR FALL

Good day and welcome.  I’m working on fall-themed cards this week and came up with this one to show a couple of the rich, fall colours.

Our leaves haven’t fully changed yet so I included a little bit of green for this wreath.  Notice the background?  I checked out a new way to add a little texture with die-cuts.  These little images were cut with the All-Around Wreath dies and glued down using the Fine-Tip Glue pen.  (I took a picture before they were glued so I could keep them where I wanted them)

The card layout follows along with this new CAS(E) this sketch challenge.

The Seasonal Wreaths Cling stamp set can be found on page 59 of the Holiday Catalogue and can be used for pretty much any season!  Make sure to check it out.

THE GRATEFUL SQUIRREL

Today’s card features a little squirrel nibbling on an acorn.

As you can see, I went with neutral colours on this and I love the background stream.  Since there are no matching dies for this set, I did “fussy-cut” the squirrel image.

I also used the “masking” technique to get just the one word for the sentiment.  Just place tape over the words(or images) that you do not want, ink and then remove the tape before stamping.

The card layout comes from this week’s sketch from The Paper Players.

Here’s the list of products that I used.

THE BEST WORDS

The best words are thank you!  I needed to stock up my thank you cards so had fun with this one.

The Handwritten background stamp has lots of great words in many languages and makes a great background for that pretty little bird.  It’s available in both Wood Mount and Cling Mount.

The Free As A Bird stamp set is so very pretty and lots of fun to colour and I used a collection of our fabulous Stampin’ Blends for that little bird and the flower and leaf images.  There a no dies for this set, so fussy-cutting is the name of the game!

THANKFUL FOR GOOD THINGS

I know it seems too early for autumn-themed cards but…….up here in northeast BC, the leaves are turning and the nights are getting chilly!  So. here is an autumn-themed card to cheer you today with it’s shades of green!

So we’re talking autumn but leaving the true autumn colours in the drawer for now, lol!

The Country Home photopolymer stamp set provided the greeting and I used the new and coming soon, All Around Wreath Dies as well as the scallop from the Flourish Dies.  I resisted the urge to add more designer paper and used the Subtle 3D embossing folder instead!

The layout was provided by CAS(E) this sketch which gives lots of choices for a project!

Here’s the list of products used.  NOTE: The Come To Gather Designer series paper and the All Around Wreath Dies won’t be available to purchase until September 4, 2019!

DAISIES EVERYWHERE

Today’s card features the Daisy Delight photopolymer stamp set with it’s line-up of pretty daisies.

I’ve seen cards with the images line-up along the edge, so gave it a try myself.  It was a simple matter of lining up the cardstock on my Grid Paper and then placing post-it notes along the edge about 1/2″ in.  This way I could stamp the images without leaving “extra” where it wasn’t wanted.  It also aligns nicely with the new CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

Here’s the list of products used.  While you’re checking out the Daisy Delight set, make sure to take a look at its “sister” stamp set, Daisy Lane (149325) on page 23 of the Annual Catalogue.
