BUTTERFLIES ON MY MIND

I’m thinking butterflies for today’s card and the Butterfly Gala stamp set and matching Butterfly Duet Punch joined in!

Do you have an “unused pieces bowl”?  I do and pulled out the medallion die cut so those butterflies could sit prettily on it!  I couldn’t leave the card front plain so it was embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to add just a touch of texture.

I wanted to play along so pulled layout from the new CAS(E) this sketch challenge.

A BEVY OF WINTER TULIPS

Ok, I know that tulips don’t bloom up here right now, but don’t we all need a pretty blast of summer colours right now?

There they are!  I used the Timeless Tulips Bundle to create this bevy of blooms and a “few” of the inks from the Brights Colour Collection!  The matching punch in this bundle made it super easy to build this bouquet!  I also used a piece of designer paper from the Playing with Patterns collection(152490) which is 15% off right now!

Where did I get this ideas for summer colours?  From the new challenge from SUO Challenges(Stampin’ Up Only).

I took on the challenge of using every one of these beautiful colours so my tulip garden would shine!

IN THE PINES BUNDLE

Hi and welcome!  Today’s card features the In The Pines Bundle and a fun (but messy) technique!

This In The Pines stamp set is a “2-step” stamping set and I wanted the trees to have snow on them!  So, I used the 2nd step image and heat embossed it with White Emboss Powder.  Then added the Garden Green ink after.  The messy part is that the ink stays wet – but a quick blast from the Heat Tool helps to set it so you don’t get it all over your fingers!

The background designer paper design in from the “Tis the Season pack(153489) and you can save 15% when you purchase it this month.

I pulled the new sketch layout from Freshly Made Sketches and used it as a starting point.

This is a simple card that delivers a bright Christmas greeting, especially with the touch of red ribbon!

THANKFUL FOR THE PUMPKIN

Welcome to you!  Today I made my own pumpkin because that’s what you have to do when you don’t have a pumpkin stamp, lol!

There it is in all of its shiny metallic glory!  I’m pretty proud of it actually and thankful that I purchased the beautiful Brushed Metallic Cardstock(153524) to use.  Then, all it took was the Layering Ovals dies(the smallest one) to cut out 5 ovals!  Then, to add some texture, out came the Subtle embossing folder.  I attached each oval using our Mini Glue Dots to form the pumpkin shape.  The leaves are courtesy of the Forever Blossoms stamp set and matching Cherry Blossom Dies.

I really liked the card layout challenge posted by The Paper Players and it fit well with my autumn-themed card.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

It took a village – of 3 stamp sets, lol to create today’s card.  And… a little water colouring too!

There’s nothing like a bright, pretty card to put a smile on one’s face!  I took the combination of colours from a stamping group that I follow on Facebook and went to work.  Those pretty blue flowers are from the Forever Blossoms stamp set(151457) and the matching Cherry Blossom dies(151456).

They were first stamped with Pacific Point ink and then I took a Water Painter and pulled the colour into the middle of each flower. TIP:  It’s best to use Shimmery White cardstock as it doesn’t pill.

Then, out came the Forever Fern Bundle(154094) stamped with Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry Ink.  Next, for the sentiment, Many Mates stamp set(152633).

STILL SCENES AND SNOWFLAKES

The weather is chilly here so I played with some snowflakes and the Still Scenes stamp set(150503) and matching Snow Globe Scenes dies(150655).

Did you notice the background papers?  They are a returning favourite from last year, Feels Like Frost Specialty designer paper(150444).  This paper is the reason for the sentiment in the globe!

I’m playing along with the new CAS(E) this sketch layout but changed the placement of the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes bundle.

A trio of snowflakes done in Silver Emboss powder adds the final touch.

YOU MEAN SO MUCH

Hi and welcome, your visits to my blog mean a lot and I thank you.  Today’s card is a pretty tribute to my visiters.

This card has several different colours to it and was a bit of a challenge as I don’t usually use these particular colours together.  I chose to use the Forever Blossoms stamp set(151457) and stamped that lovely spray in Bumblebee.  There is a very light wash of Seaside Spray on the background and I used our new Water Painters(151298) to apply the colour.

This idea came from the FabFri Colour Challenge.

THE SEASON OF SPARKLE IS COMING

Ok, with the chilly weather setting in I couldn’t help but create a card with sparkly snowflakes!  And……today being the 25th means that Christmas is only 3 months away!

I pulled out the retired Silver Glimmer paper for this because it just seemed right to add that special sparkle.  And that led to using the Silver Emboss Powder for the sparkly greeting along with a beautiful design from the Snowflake Splendor designer paper(153512).

The layout came about because of the new Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here’s the list of products used.  Note, the silver glimmer paper is not listed.

MY GUYS

Hi there.  Today I am paying tribute to my guys, Max and Riley.  Max was our Cairn Terrier and Riley our orange tabby cat!

I do miss their footsteps and snuggles!  They had an amenable relationship most of the time, lol, but there were other times that made life very interesting and hilarious!

The Paper Players challenge came at just the right time, when my guys were on my mind, so I played along!
