SO THANKFUL FOR FLOWERS

Wow, it’s Friday already and I’m celebrating with flowers!  The Sweet Strawberry Bundle(156214) isn’t just about fruit you know.

I coloured them bright with the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and, of course a little Granny Apple Green doesn’t hurt!

This card follows along with the layout from Freshly Made Sketches for this week.

Stampin’ Up! Year End C… by cynthiajs

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!

A SWEET SPRING BABY

I’m talking spring today even though we got another dump of snow overnight!  It’s March in northeastern BC and that is just the way this spring month work, lol.  I’m making the best of it though and posting this sweet baby card for you.

Isn’t that the sweetest picture ever?!  I stamped the image with Basic Gray and then overstamped with Versamark so I could add Clear Emboss powder to brighten it up.  Then I just added touches of Petal Pink for the ears and noses.  Sweet for sure!

The Paper Players posted a clean and simple challenge to use animals for this week and I’m pretty sure this one fits:)

I think adding that bit of ribbon(Playing with Patterns 152468) and small bow finishes it off perfectly!

A DIFFERENT COLOUR COMBO

This card is a different colour combination for me.  I wasn’t sure about it but it has “grown on me”.

The card base is the soon to be retired Rococo Rose 2019-2021 InColor.  I added some Blackberry Bliss with the circles and that is what had me wondering about the colours.  But, as I said, it has grown on me especially with the colourful dragonflies!  They were punched out of the Dandy Garden designer paper(154297).  I also punched out some of the tiny dragonflies with basic white and then glued the images from the paper over top.  The only stamping on this card is the greeting from the Many Messages Bundle(156272).

Before I get to the products list, the RETIRING LIST will be posted later today.  Make sure to check it out on my FACEBOOK PAGE to see which items you need to get before they are gone!

TO A GREAT GUY

Hi there.  It had occurred to me that I haven’t created any “guy” cards lately so today’s is a blend of that along with a cool technique.

I follow Stampin’ Up! on facebook and came across this cool technique on their page.  It involves using the new Blending Brushes(153611) and a Garden Green ink pad.  Start with the Dandy Laser Cut paper and add the ink using the blending brush.  Do it carefully though, so you don’t tear the paper.  It took several “layers” of colour to get the depth I was looking for.  Then, using a sponge, I added touches of Versamark, sprinkled some Heat & Stick powder and added just a bit of heat with the Heat Tool.  Heat just until the powder turns dark and then add the Gilded Leafing(154560).  I also used the Heat Tool to set it a bit more after brushing the extra away.

To make it more of a guy card, I used the Dragonfly Garden Bundle.  NOTE:  This card measures 3-1/2″ x 5″ so there would’nt be a large border around the laser cut.

BALLONS FOR A BIRTHDAY

Welcome to a brand new week and a brand new birthday card.  The Prettiest Birthday bundle(156247) is so pretty and fun to use with it’s pretty images!

I matted this card with a piece from the Playing with Patterns designer paper(152490) to mimic the balloons.  I also decided not to colour those balloon so they would stand out with that delicious-looking cake.  What flavour do you think it is?  I’m thinking chocolate!

This card was inspired by the latest challenge from SUO Challenges to use food or drink as the theme and in my mind, chocolate cake is it’s own food group, lol!

BACK ON YOUR FEET

I’m stocking up on “get well” cards – it never hurts to be prepared just in case!  A little humour helps when someone you know is ill, so here’s to getting back on your feet as soon as possible!

The images in the Back on Your Feet stamp set(149385) are just so cute and are sure to put a smile on someone’s face.  I chose the turtle for today and added some colour with our Stampin’ Blends.  Since the Square Vellum Doilies were still sitting on my table, I thought that one would be a great mat for that poor guy.

The card measures 4-1/4″ X 4-1/4″ to play along with this Freshly Made Sketches challenge for a square card.

Note:  The card size will fit perfectly into the medium envelopes(159236).

I hope the recipient gets a good giggle out of this card!

A WISH FOR YOU

Today’s project features an old favourite of mine, Forever Blossoms(151457).

Those beautiful blossoms were coloured with Highland Heather, Old Olive and a touch of Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends combos. When finished with the colouring, I decided to shine it up so stamped the entire image with Versamark and then added Clear Emboss Powder.  Isn’t it great how it brightened it up?

I wanted a pretty font for the greeting so borrowed it from the Prettiest Birthday stamp set(154458) that’s in the January – June Catalogue.

I haven’t played along with The Paper Players in a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to use their Colour Challenge.

HERE’S TO A BRIGHT YELLOW BIRTHDAY

Hello and a very Happy St. Patrick’s day to you!  I’m sharing this bright yellow birthday card with a touch of green for the occasion.

The main panel was done with a water painter and the Daffodil Delight ink refill and boy did it turn out bright!  So, I stamped those bundle of flowers from the Ornate Style Bundle(154119) with versamark and gave them a sprinkle of White Emboss Powder to make them stand out.  Those touches of green are the tiny leaves that I coloured with the Granny Apple Green marker.

Have you noticed the SquareVellum Doilies(152484) in the annual catalogue?  They’re on page 153 and make a great subtle background.

THANK YOU TO YOU

A big thank you today for your patience.  This blog has been undergoing a big change so posting has been limited.  There are still more changes to come but for now I wanted to share this card with you.

I combined the Ornate Style Bundle(154119) with the Many Messages Bundle(156272) and some colouring to bring you these bright flowers!

I love the fancy of the Ornate Layers dies and used a piece of Pretty Peacock for that lovely frame.  Pretty Peacock is one of the InColors that is going away by May 4, 2021!  If you really love the 2019-2021 InColors I highly recommend that you get them soon as these products tend to sell out quickly!

FLY DRAGONFLY, FLY

Hi out there and welcome.  Today it’s all about flying things so I chose to use the Dragonfly Garden stamp set(154411).

The Dandy Laser Cut Paper(154300) and a bit of the Dandy Garden designer paper(154297) make for a very pretty card IMO!

The designs in the Laser Cut package come in white but you can use the Blending Brushes to add colour which sure helps to pop out the images on this card.  Just a note though, the Blending Brushes have been so popular that they are temporarily unavailable.  So I recommend that you use a stamping sponge(141337) to get this coloured effect.

I frequently like to play along with the SUO Challenges(Stampin’ Up! only) and this card fits in with their latest challenge, which is “Sky High-Anything That Flies”.
