Tag: Cards for Kids

Happy April Fool’s Day!  Today’s post is no joke though!  I had fun creating this Garage in a box for card class tomorrow night.

The request was to make cards for kids and since kids like lots of colour and shapes this card should be perfect!

The Geared up Garage Cling bundle and matching Classic Garage Designer Series Paper Stack was lots of fun to play with! The greeting from Postcard Pals matched really well with the garage theme too!  I found the pattern for this on Splitcoast Stampers at this link and adjusted the measurements so it would fit into our Stampin’ Up! medium envelopes(107301).

Here’s the list of products used.

Happy Stamping!

I’m taking a turn to a different kind of card today – this one uses the Letters for You photopolymer stamp set to create a card for kids.

I love it and also used a fun technique on it as well.  Did you know that you can emboss with framelits?  Well, with special layering you can!  Start with the Big Shot platform (no tabs), add a Standard cutting pad, a cardstock shim and then the Silicone rubber sheet.  Then lay your card layer down and add the framelits (cutting side up).  Layer another Standard cutting pad over top, add another cardstock shim and run it all through the Big Shot.  Presto – you have just embossed with a framelit!  (Click on the picture to see the background).

You can check out all of the Big Shot accessories I used in my Online Store.

I used bright colours to play along with The Paper Players Colour Challenge this week.

Here’s the list of all of the products that I used.

I hope you are inspired to give this Embossing with Framelits technique a try, it adds that little extra pop to your project!

Happy Stamping!

My great-nephew turned 5 this month so I had to create this cute centre-step card for him

I’ve had my eye on the Marquee Messages stamp set for a while and am glad that I added it to my collection.  I think it goes really well with the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.  You can add several other great greetings too which makes this stamp set very versatile!

Happy Stamping!

Hello out there!  Good grief and its Friday already!  I’ve taken a small break from Christmas cards to put together a birthday card suitable for a child.  Our family has quite a few birthdays coming up in December and January, so I’m trying to get ahead of things.

I used “Up, Up & Away” for this cute card and got my layout inspiration from The Paper Players.

I’ve been collecting the Craft Stampin’ Spots collections and just had to use the Brights collection to make the balloons.  Each balloon was sprinkled with Clear Emboss Powder and heat set and then cut out.  I added a mat of matching color to each with a 1-3/8″ Circle.  Just plain cute I say.

Card Stock:  Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper(122348)
Ink:  Real Red Classic(103133), Craft Stampin’ Spots Brights Collection(119718)
Accessories:  Clear Emboss Powder(109130), Heat Tool(100005), 1-3/8″ Circle Punch(119860), 1″ Square Punch(124094 – Holiday Mini catalogue), Postage Stamp Punch(122344), Snail Adhesive(104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals(104430)

Now, I’m off to create some more cards with this fun set.  If you are out and about in Fort St. John tomorrow, be sure to stop by the Shoppers Drug Mart.  I’ll be there with some great Christmas ideas for you.
