GREETINGS FROM NATURE’S BEAUTY

Hi out there and welcome.  Today’s card features the Nature’s Beauty stamp set that’s on the last page of the Holiday Catalogue.

Stampin’ Up! does a feature stamp every year and this year, they are donating $4 of every sale of this set to Mental Health organizations.

This is a simply lovely set and I love this deer image so featured it to play along with The Paper Players colour challenge.

I must admit, it was a bit of a challenge to get the gold in there, but I think it looks great as the greeting.  To make it a little more effective, I added some branches in gold foil!

Here’s the list of products used.

ADD A LITTLE SPARKLE TO THE SEASON

It’s time to sparkle for the coming season and today’s card does just that!

When you have sparkle you also have a “small” problem with light reflection, lol.  However, this looks pretty good and shows off that Mercury Glass designer acetate well!

I added snowflakes created with the Frosted Frames dies along the side to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches layout for this week.

The beauty of having the greeting along the side as shown in the sketch, is that the recipient may just set the card on the horizontal when they receive it.

Here’s the product list for you.

A VERY MERRY SNOWMAN

OK, I went to my die-cutting machine to create this funny-looking snowman for today’s card.

I’m laughing as I post this because he looks a little smug.  I used the Layering Circles dies to create him and then added his face with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  And then added the holly leaves using the stamp set that was in the November Paper Pumpkin kit.  A snowman isn’t a snowman without a little snow, so I added the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint.

I really wanted to play along with The Paper Players theme challenge this week so that’s why this snowman looks a little smug, lol!

GARDEN LANE FOR A SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARD

Yesterday, I posted a card that used the lovely Garden Lane designer paper and suggested that it would make a pretty Christmas card.  Today’s card is the result of using that paper!

You don’t need much to add a bit of glitz, just a few dies cuts and some Gold Foil!  The Frosted Frames dies has some great pieces so I cut out a few and gathered them together with a piece of twine from the Magnolia Lane ribbon combo pack.  Of course, adding a few Gold Metallic Pearls was a necessity for more glitz!

What layout to use?  Well,  The Paper Players of course, which also helps to show off that lovely designer paper.

PEACEFUL BOUGHS MAKE A PRETTY CARD

Happy day to you and welcome!  Today’s card features the very pretty Peaceful Boughs bundle and a simple technique.

I used the Crumb Cake ink pad to stamp those pinecones and then over-stamped them with the Celestial Copper Delicata metallic ink.  I think that it gives them a nice subtle sheen.

In my mind, you can’t add pinecones without a few red berries, so out came the Flourish dies for that.

The technique I used was the colour the White Baker’s Twine with the Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend.  The colour goes on so smoothly and there’s no waiting for it to dry.  Perfect!

SILVERY SNOWFLAKES

Hello to you on this Friday!  I’m ending the week with a silvery card that features the regal stag from the Dashing Deer stamp set on a background of silvery snowflakes.

I think this handsome stag looks great in silver and the Silvery Shimmer Delecata metallic ink is great to work with and adds that extra pop to any project!

This card needed just a tiny pop of colour as well, so I matted the designer paper with a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock and added the greeting in the same colour.

Freshly Made Sketches posted this layout which is what I started with.  There’s ample opportunity for creativity with this sketch for sure!

POLAR BEAR HAVEN

Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features Polar Bears and my version of the Northern Lights.  I used lots of dies to create this scene as well as the Still Stencil Technique.

The bright background used the Still Stencil Technique to get that colourful sky.  I sprinkled the gorgeous grape from the Pigment Sprinkles over a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and then spritzed it really well.  Then I laid the cloud stencil over top and let it dry.  TIP:  It’s really important to use a little extra water so the stencil will lay firmly on the colours to transfer the design.

Then I pulled out lots of dies to create the polar bear family on the snow and ice.  That vignette is layered behind a piece of a Window Sheet and then the sky background was attached using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

This all started with the challenge from The Paper Players this week and I’m pretty happy with the way it all turned out.

Here’s the very long list of products used.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU

We’re heading quickly into the holiday season and it’s time to place that special wreath on the front door!

I’ll be refreshing my door wreath this year and can hardly wait to welcome it to my front door.

Since wreaths were on my mind, I pulled out the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and matching All-Around Wreath dies and created this card for today.

I used the Shimmer White embossing powder for the snowflakes and coloured the wreath with our fabulous Stampin’ Blends(love them!)

This weeks’ card layout was provided by CAS(E) this sketch and, as you can see, the layout provides plenty of opportunity to get really creative!
