POLAR BEAR HAVEN

Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features Polar Bears and my version of the Northern Lights.  I used lots of dies to create this scene as well as the Still Stencil Technique.

The bright background used the Still Stencil Technique to get that colourful sky.  I sprinkled the gorgeous grape from the Pigment Sprinkles over a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and then spritzed it really well.  Then I laid the cloud stencil over top and let it dry.  TIP:  It’s really important to use a little extra water so the stencil will lay firmly on the colours to transfer the design.

Then I pulled out lots of dies to create the polar bear family on the snow and ice.  That vignette is layered behind a piece of a Window Sheet and then the sky background was attached using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

This all started with the challenge from The Paper Players this week and I’m pretty happy with the way it all turned out.

Here’s the very long list of products used.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU

We’re heading quickly into the holiday season and it’s time to place that special wreath on the front door!

I’ll be refreshing my door wreath this year and can hardly wait to welcome it to my front door.

Since wreaths were on my mind, I pulled out the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and matching All-Around Wreath dies and created this card for today.

I used the Shimmer White embossing powder for the snowflakes and coloured the wreath with our fabulous Stampin’ Blends(love them!)

This weeks’ card layout was provided by CAS(E) this sketch and, as you can see, the layout provides plenty of opportunity to get really creative!

SAY HELLO TO A VERY DASHING DEER

OK, it’s time to bring out the Dashing Deer stamp set.  This is one set from last year that carried forward so it is definitely time to give that dashing fellow some love.

The design is etched into the stamp itself and gives a beautiful finish to this dashing deer.  I first stamped him in Soft Suede ink and then over-stamped with Versamark so he could be heat embossed with Clear powder.  TIP:  The Stamparatus is the perfect tool for this technique.

I am following along with this week’s CAS(E) this sketch challenge and the layout gives the perfect placement for the deer and greeting.

PEACEFUL SEASON

Hello and welcome.  I’m going back to Christmas for todays post with this peaceful season card.

It took 3 stamp sets to put this one together with all of the different elements!

I had a piece made with the Buffalo Check stamp set so used it for the background.  Then added all of the rest from the Peaceful Boughs Bundle and the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set and matching All-Around Wreath Dies.

I felt that the wreath needed a bit of pop so added the Red Rhinestones.

Here’s the list of all of the products used.

IT LOOKS A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

The snow has been falling and it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas!  So I’ve been in my craft room stamping away!

There’s nothing like a Christmas tree to sign out Christmas and this image from the Merry Moose stamp set sings it clearly!  Instead of using designer paper, I made my own with the Buffalo Check background stamp set.  It just seems right to put a little plaid into the picture and it’s always the right time to do a little colouring as well.  That line-up of gifts just needed a touch of colour and our Stampin’ Write Markers did the job!

I really wanted to play along with the CAS(E) this sketch challenge so followed along with their new layout.

LET’S CASE THE CATALOGUE

Good day to you!  Today’s card is a CASE (Copy and share everything) from page 43 of the Holiday Catalogue.

There’s a story here – I made this card because the first one I made with the Still Scenes Bundle did not turn out OK at all!  So I threw a little snit, threw it in the garbage, and went to the catalogue for ideas.  This one stood out and to make it my own, I changed it up just a bit by adding the snow on the trees.

NEW STAMPIN’ UP! TRIMMER

Are you ready to try out the new and re-designed Trimmer?  It is now available for you to purchase and I really like it.  Especially the fact that the extender “leg” is built into the trimmer itself which makes it much more sturdy.  As a Demonstrator, I cut a lot of paper and can say in all honesty that the blades holds a great, smooth cut for a very long time.   Visit my Store and try it out!

Now, on to the list of products used for today’s card.

A TIMELESS MESSAGE

Today’s card shows the timeless message of the holiday season with the Still Scenes Bundle.

I used the Snow Globe Shaker Dome and added a little of the Ice Stampin’ Glitter to that lovely little scene.  The trees in the background came from the October Paper Pumpkin kit.

Once the front of the card was done I added a touch of snowflakes compliment of the Frosted Foliage stamp set.

I didn’t want to take away from that lovely soft scene so added the verse to the inside of the card.

THE MOOSE IS LOOSE

The Christmoose is loose!  I just had to play around with the Merry Moose Bundle and had fun creating this card.

The moose was stamped with Celestial Copper and then over-stamped with Early Espresso for the outline.  And this is so easy to do when you use the Stamparatus!

After embossing the card front, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little Crumb Cake ink to highlight the forest background.  I prefer to use the Sponge Dauber because it is easier to put the ink where you want it!

I was using the CAS(E) this sketch layout for this card so used the Word Wishes dies to create the line of greetings.

CHRISTMAS FRIENDSHIP

It’s a Friday Christmas friendship card for you today!  Is it too soon to let you know that today is 2 months until Christmas??

The colours of Christmas are bright and friendly and so I just had to create this bright card of friendship branches.  The Toile Christmas Bundle and matching designer paper was the perfect mix.

I love colouring and those branches were given life with our fabulous Stampin’ Blends.  Notice the tiny bow at the top?  I used the Dark Real Red blend to colour it.  The fact that our blends are alchohol based makes it easy and no drying period wait either.

The layout comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

YULETIDE CHEER TO YOU

I was playing around with the Frosted Foliage Bundle and was taken by the large Yuletide cheer greeting.  The question was how to put it on a card so it would stand out?

Well, like that of course!  The background image from Feels Like Frost DSP is a beauty so it had to be on this card as well.  I also played around with the Ice Stampin’ Glitter for that pretty frame and applied a thin layer of glue from the Fine-Tip Glue pen first.  (If you click on the photo it will show you a close-up).

This week’s challenge over at The Paper Players is to “say it LOUD” so this should fit in with that.  Clean and Simple as well?  You be the judge.

Here’s the list of products used.

I always like to play along with The Paper Players and was delighted to see that This Card from last week’s challenge had been chosen as “a cut above”!
