PTERODACTYL HALLOWEEN

Pterodactyl, whew that’s a mouthful!  However, when you want to create a Halloween-themed project you sometimes need to go to the Dino Days bundle!  Especially when you don’t have any Halloween-themed stamp sets.  He, he, so here it is!

I sure had fun with this and took some of the colours from The Paper Players Colour Challenge.

Just a note:  Elegant Eggplant and Tangelo Twist are retired colours from Stampin’ Up! so I substituted Terracotta Tile and Blackberry Bliss.

The pine boughs in the background are from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and I thought that they would make a great background done in Smokey Slate.

HAVE A COZY CHRISTMAS

Hello on this beautiful Saturday.  I was playing around with the Merry Moose stamp set and wanted to show off the really cute raccoon image that’s in this set.

He is a cutie pie for sure sitting on his little log!  In order to add the extras, I decided to play along with the new Freshly Made Sketches layout.

The Stitched Rectangle Dies made the perfect frame for this scene too.  Just pick your sizes, layer them together a cut with your die-cutting machine!  Easy!  This was  a fun card to make this Saturday and I hope that you enjoy it as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians and Happy Stamping!

THE COLOURS OF FALL

Today I’m focussing on the colours of fall with this card created with the Bloom & Grow Bundle.

Those lovely flowers were coloured with our fabulous Stampin’ Blends in Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron.  When the colouring was done, they needed a good background piece so I went to the Come to Gather designer paper package.  I wasn’t sure at first, but do like the blend of Cajun Craze with the Pumpkin Pie card base and So Saffron mat.

It just goes to show that playing around with colours can show one different ways to enjoy them!

HAPPY AND BRIGHT

Welcome to you!  Today’s post shows off two cards that I created with the Toile Christmas Bundle.

I started with this one with the background design from the Toile Tidings designer paper.

Then, I decided to keep the background clean and made this one.

I like them both – what do you think?  I’d love your feedback so feel free to leave a comment with your pick.

Here’s the list of products that I used for both.

TOGETHER ON THIS JOURNEY

“Together we’ll get through this journey.”  That’s the saying that is the highlight of today’s card.

I hadn’t used the Good Morning Magnolia cling bundle for a while so it was exciting to use it for this soft and beautiful card!  I used the Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers to add ink to the image, using the sides of the markers to give a softer look.

Covering up that beautiful flower wasn’t an option so Vellum was the choice for that inspiring greeting!  Then I used a Silicone Craft sheet and a sponge to add the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the vellum piece so the glue would not show through.

I followed along with this new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping to you!

A LITTLE MANGO, A LITTLE MINT

I was playing around with the Seasonal Wreaths Cling stamp set on the weekend and came up with this Mango and Mint combination!

The first thing I did was to draw a light pencil line around the second largest Layering Circle die!  This was my guide the stamping the flower flourish in the shape of a wreath.  Once the stamping was done, a White Eraser was used to get rid of the pencil line.  TIP:  It’s very important to use a White Eraser as it won’t leave marks.

Then it was just a matter of colouring with our Stampin’ Blends!  I really like the combination of Mango Melody and Mint Macaron with just a touch of Mossy Meadow.  Then I decided to fussy-cut the wreath as I didn’t like the extra white edges.

A STUDY IN BLUE FLORALS

Happy Wednesday to you and welcome to today’s blue-themed post! I had seen a card that carried a blue and brown theme so decided to give it a try myself.

This is what I came up with!  I used the Floral Essence Bundle with it’s matching flower punch and did some “fussy cutting” as well.  The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper is beautiful and this piece is the perfect subtle background!

Here’s the list of products used.

NOTE:  Stampin’ Up! is giving our Demonstrator Websites an upgrade so it may take a while to check it out today.

PUMPKINS FOR FALL

Well, it is feeling so much like fall out there so why not focus on some great-looking pumpkins!

The Come to Gather Designer Series paper package contains some great designs and I put my focus on those lovely pumpkins for this card.  Well, I had to add some fall-coloured leaves as well so I could show off the new Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic ink. That’s a mouthful but the ink is fabulous to work with and adds just the right amount of “fall feels”!  So why stop at leaves, why not add a copper-inked wreath as well?!

TIP:  Make sure to check out all of the Delicata Metallic inks on page 16 of the Holiday Catalogue!

The original plan was to play along with The Paper Players colour challenge and I think that I did get all of the colours in.  Plus a few extras, lol!

Here’s the list of products that I used.

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY

“Days are beautiful that begin with you”!  What better way to say that than with this lovely greeting card.

It’s such a simple way to send that greeting to someone that you love!

I started off with a card base of Petal Pink and matched the flower using Petal Pink Classic ink.  The punch that goes along with the Floral Essence Bundle makes creating perfect flowers really easy! TIP:  The Leaf Punch (144667) matches this stamp set perfectly too!

The Stitched Nested Labels Dies were used to cut the background designer paper (Perennial Essence) as well as the greeting label.

THE GRATEFUL SQUIRREL

Today’s card features a little squirrel nibbling on an acorn.

As you can see, I went with neutral colours on this and I love the background stream.  Since there are no matching dies for this set, I did “fussy-cut” the squirrel image.

I also used the “masking” technique to get just the one word for the sentiment.  Just place tape over the words(or images) that you do not want, ink and then remove the tape before stamping.

The card layout comes from this week’s sketch from The Paper Players.

Here’s the list of products that I used.
