BLUE BIRDS OF FRIENDSHIP

Today’s card is all about blue birds and friendship.  I pulled out the beautiful Free As A Bird cling stamp set, some Stampin’ Blends, a piece of the lovely Bird Ballad designer series paper and went to work.

Aren’t they just the cutest birds ever?!  They are so easy to colour a look great sitting on that branch!

The colours I used come from this week’s colour challenge from The Paper Players,

so I used a piece of the 1/8″ Blueberry Bushel grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.

FOR A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

There’s nothing like the happiness of daisies to celebrate a special birthday and today’s card highlights that happy bloom.

I added a little help with two more stamp sets, the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle for the leaves and Special Celebrations for the birthday greeting!  I’m playing along with The Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for this card.

I added the wood look by using the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder and, to bring out the grain in the wood, added a little Crumb Cake ink and lightly sponged it over the design.

To get the leaves, I stamped the large magnolia image onto Old Olive cardstock and then cut them out.  They were placed on the back of the layered daisy using Mini Glue dots.

SO SAY THE BIRDS

The birds have spoken, thanks for being you!  Today’s card features the Free As A Bird Cling stamp set with a touch of the Bird Ballad designer series paper.

I had great fun colouring these sweeties with our Stampin’ Blends and then fussy cut each one out to be placed just so!  Then why not heat emboss that great friend greeting too!  It was all put together by following along with this great sketch from The Paper Players.

SUMMER VACATION

It’s that time of the year when thoughts turn to enjoying the summer weather and where to go for summer vacation.  We are always excited to visit our cabin by the lake and today’s card paints a small picture of that.

It also fits in well with The Paper Players challenge.

The Waterfront stamp set is perfect, but I wasn’t sure if that little building was an outhouse or a cabin, lol, but decided that yes, it’s definitely a cabin!  There are quite a few colours on this card to build the scene starting with the new InColor, Seaside Spray.  It’s perfect for this scene.

TIME FOR TAGS HOST SET

Today’s card features the new Time For Tags stamp set that is available when you earn Host Rewards.  It’s so cute that I just had to create this card with it.

I used a piece from the new Bird Ballad Designer Series paper and pulled out the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies to make the tiny hearts accents.  I wanted to add a subtle background on the white, so used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to add stripes spaced 1/4″ apart.  Click on the photo to see them up close.
The little giraffe was coloured Stampin’ Write Markers in Pool Party, Calypso Coral and So Saffron from the Subtles collection.

This layout is from The Paper Players, check out the ver versatile sketch below.

A TRIO OF HAPPY PLANTS

Good day to you.  The weather has been perfect for planting but today I planted these pretty plants on paper!

The Sitting Here photopolymer stamp set is on the Last Chance list so I decided to use it one last time for The Paper Players Challenge.

I used several of the Stampin’ Write Markers from 4 different Colour families.  Since the challenge is clean and simple, I decided to keep the colours to just Seaside Spray(New 2019-2021 InColor) and Whisper White.

Here’s the list of products for you.

I was delighted to find that I was chosen as one of the winners for last week’s Paper Players challenge with this card.  Thank you!

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

A CARD OF MANY COLOURS

Hello and welcome.  I went all out with colours for today’s card…..

….Wow, who wouldn’t enjoy receiving this card!

The Paper Players posted a very colourful challenge this week so I used cardstock instead of ink to show off those colours.

Each strip was cut at 1/4″ wide and then once all of the colours were lined up, I glued them down using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  Then it was just a matter of trimming them along the edge with Paper Snips.

I wanted the die-cut greeting to stand out, so layered it onto Whisper white to give it a subtle shadow.  A tiny bow finishes it off!

Here’s the list of products used.  Reminder, Stampin’ Up! has retired the Big Shot and Stampin’ Trimmer that is why they are not listed.

MY FRIEND THE DEER

We live outside of town and frequently have visitors – I call them my friendly deer.  They help to trim up my flower beds and just look great wandering around our yard.  Today’s card was inspired by their visits.

I combined the Waterfront photopolymer stamp set and Dashing Deer for this card.  (Yes, can still purchase the Dashing Deer stamp set and matching dies).  The friend theme comes from The Paper Players latest challenge.

EVERY LITTLE KINDNESS

Good day and welcome!  Today’s kindness card features the paper-piecing technique and what better way to show it than with the beautiful hummingbird image from the retiring Humming Along Cling bundle!

The clean and simple look is the theme from The Paper Players this week with the Paper Piecing techingue to make things stand out.

I used a scrap piece from the Tranquil Textures designer paper for the hummingbird.  To make is a little more solid, I also cut out a piece from our Thick Whisper White cardstock and glued them together with the Liquid multipurpose glue.  Then it was just a matter of “borrowing” that kindness greeting from the Waterfront Photopolymer stamp set and adding a Frosted Flower embellishment to finish it all off.

BEST DAD EVER!

Have you used the Country Livin’ stamp set lately?  I haven’t used it in quite a while so brought it out to create today’s “Best Dad” card.

It’s a little early for Father’s Day but it never hurts to get ready in lots of time.  I’ve really been focussing on improving my colouring skills with the Stampin’ Blends and have extremely happy with the way this image turned out.  The guitar was stamped first and then I masked it with a post-it note, added the boots and started colouring.

The touch of Balmy Blue plaid was added to play along with The Paper Players Theme challenge for this week.  Doesn’t it look great with the various shades of brown?
