Welcome and thanks for stopping by today. I’m playing with a Halloween theme even though I don’t have much of a selection of Halloween-themed stamps. I had to do some deep and creative thinking for this one.
Black cats are one of the traditions for this holiday, so “C is for Cat” worked for me. I also wanted to give the impression that kitty was hiding in tall and spooky grass so added “Inspired by Nature” to the mix.
The moon was created using the “masking” technique and then the grass image was stamped in three different colors, More Mustard, Basic Gray and Crumb Cake. I then sponged More mustard lightly all over the image panel.
The Crumb cake panel needed a boost I called upon my Big Shot and the Square Lattice Die for assistance. This panel was then sponged with Basic Gray. The cat image was stamped in Basic Black Classic ink and then sponged with Basic gray. I think the paw print adds a little something to the greeting – don’t you?
It’s not a really spooky card, but it works for me. Just an example of what you can do with a non-traditional image. Give it a try yourself!
