YAY, it’s another WORD Wednesday post for you! During the month of May I am focusing on the WORD “STAMP” and today’s highlighted letter is “A”. Perfect for showing a Retiring stamp set called “Awash with Flowers”. This is a 2-step stamping set that works perfectly for the watercoloring technique.
I first stamped the flower and stem outlines using Stazon Jet Black ink. This is a permanent ink that won’t bleed – the best kind to use when watercoloring. Then, using an Aqua Painter, I spread water over the entire piece of watercolor paper and then stamped the solid image. It bled a little which gives a great watercolor wash look. I filled the stems in with the New Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Marker to match the designer background paper from the brand new Comfort Cafe designer paper package. Nice!
I played with seam binding ribbon and buttons to add some extra touches and added a great sentiment from “A Word for You”. I like this card, it’s perfect for sending to someone special as a “just because” greeting.
