Good morning and the title says it all. Summer is going away and the crispness of fall is in the air and I wanted to share these flowers with you! A tribute to the last days of summer.
The flowers were coloured using an aqua painter and classic ink pads on Watercolor paper. The subdued hues paired with Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze show the changing of the seasons. The little butterfly highlights the sentiment before he flies away for the season. I painted him on Watercolor paper as well and then applied a light misting of Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to shine him up a bit.

I really like the way this card turned out and it will go into my “special” stash – someone will need a pretty card one day just to say hello and perhaps lift their spirits a bit.
Do you know that Greeting Cards have a rich and interesting history? I was directed to a very interesting article about this very thing. For instance, “sending greeting cards to friends and family is a tradition that goes back about 200 years.” Wow, 200 years! It’s a pretty interesting read, check it out here at this link.
