Happy Monday to you! I was going to post a card for you today – BUT – we had some very interesting visitors over the weekend and I just had to share these with you!
We do live right in city limits in Fort St. John, BC, but we do have some “urban moose calves” who wander around the neighborhood nibbling on the newly budding trees and bushes.
This guy is a 1-year old Bull Moose calf! His mother is likely expecting and a cow moose will send their “older” calves away when that happens.
Here’s a close-up of him enjoying the fresh new leaf buds on the neighbor’s tree. It’s hard to see in the picture but there are nubs of antlers just above his eye.
He had a partner for this early morning expedition.
I was lucky to get close enough to get these pictures – but when they started to stamp and grunt, I knew it was time to back off. So I thanked them for the “kodak moment” and retreated back to my Sunday morning coffee.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and don’t forget – the SUDSOL SUMMER MINI BLOG TOUR starts tomorrow! I’m so excited and hope that you will be able to take the time to stop in and take the tour.
