Hello Friends, Happy Thursday to you. I have a couple of important things to share with you today. The first is this card made with the Clear-mount stamp set, Pedaling Past(120069). This set is still available to purchase from the Summer Mini Catalogue. Click here to check it out!
I belong to SUDSOL (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing Online), an online group that acts as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator’s 24-7 upline. This is a community of Demonstrators sharing lots and lots of wonderful projects that you can use in your own workshops and classes. There are also weekly challenges to take part in to help stretch your creativity. Check it out here, I highly recommend it!
One of the challenges for this week is to create a design using one of Stampin’ Up’s new Embossing Folders. I chose to use the new Vintage Wallpaper Folder for this card.
I first cut a panel of Soft Suede, then added a piece of patterned paper from the wonderful Designer Paper pack, Elegant Soiree. I put this layer into the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
I also found the picture of the “velocipede” on a piece of designer paper from the Newsprint Designer Paper package and that inspired my use of Pedaling Past. The newer bicycle was stamped with Soft Suede classic ink and coloured with Stampin’ write markers. I decided that because it is a newer bike, that it needed a shiny look, so I over-stamped the image with Versamark, sprinkled it with Clear Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool. I don’t have any ribbon in Baja Breeze, so out came the marker to colour a strip of 3/8″ Whisper White Taffeta ribbon. A baby wipe helped to set the color on the ribbon.
Here’s the complete recipe for you;
Stamp Set: Pedaling Past
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper, Newsprint Designer Series Paper
Ink: Soft Suede Classic, Stampin’ write Markers in Soft Suede and Baja Breeze, Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, 3/8″ Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, 3/16″ Metallic Brads, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
In two more sleeps we will be away for our summer vacation. I’m quite excited about it as we are going to our property in the Caribou region of British Columbia. My blog posts during our away time will be fewer as we have very limited access to the Internet. I’ll still be posting on Friday’s for the Stamp-a-holics challenge though, so come on back to check things out on Friday’s.
Wow, this is a long post – but one more thing – don’t forget to come back tomorrow to check out the Stamp-a-holics challenge. I welcome and appreciate your visits, so I’ll see you again tomorrow.
Cheers;
