Hello to you. It’s hard to believe that it is Friday already – where on earth did this week go? And, it has occurred to me that Father’s Day weekend is only a week away, so I decided to “go masculine” for today’s card.
I’m trying out a technique to create a Patchwork Frame for this card and pulled out my “Nature Walk” stamp set for the masculine feel. Here it is….
The patchwork frame was created by covering a 3-1/2″ square of very vanilla card stock with squares of designer paper. (I used the 1-1/4″ square punch for those). Then I layered two sizes of the Labels Framelits, one inside the other, to cut out the frame. I cut out another label piece from very vanilla card stock and stamped the bird cage image in Summer Starfruit and then the bird image over top with Midnight Muse ink and attached it to the back of the frame with dots of snail adhesive.
I bordered the whole image with mats of Midnight Muse and finished it off with a really great button from the New Neutrals Designer Buttons and a knot of Linen Thread. The sentiment was “borrowed” from “Best Dad Ever”.
