It’s Friday and time for fun with the Stampaholics! Our challenge for this week is to create a box using the 2-4-6-8 box layout and we have 45 minutes this time!
I decided to make mine look like a little treasure chest so added an extra 2″ to the width to make the cardstock size 7-1/2″ X 8-1/2″.
I scored at 2″, 4″ 6″ and 8″ along the 7-1/2″ side and then cut to end up with this shape.
The next step was to put a window in the lid with the Decorative Label Punch. The window was cute from Stampin’ Up’s Medium Window Sheets at 1-7/8″ X 3″ and attached with Sticky Strip.
Sticky strip is a great adhesive and a necessary addition for making sure that your treasure chest stays together!
A treasure chest needs a few reinforcements so I added the “locks” using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower shape and the 1/2″ Circle Punch for the corners. Just fold the tiny circles in half each way and cut out a quarter and adhere to your corners.(I found this idea in one of Becky Robert’s tutorials)
A label, a length of ribbon and it’s complete. Add some yummy treats and it’s good to go!
I’m going to use this idea for Christmas treats as well. Give it a try, it’s quick and easy.
And what did Mr. Timer have to say? 19 minutes and 37 seconds. Not bad!
