Good morning and I hope this day finds you well and happy. We had a good weekend and got our Christmas tree up, with much help from our Grandchildren. Gotta love that!
There is quite the colour challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary and I thought that I should give it a try. This is definitely a change from Christmas colours – we are to use Rich Razzleberry, River Rock, Old Olive and Night of Navy. So here is what I came up with. I had seen the “Faux Cloisonne” technique on Sharon Field’s blog and decided to give it a try myself. The single stamp, Fine Flourish, has been sitting on my shelf unused for quite a while – so – out it came.
I first stamped the image with Old Olive Classic ink and then applied the Embossing Buddy to get rid of any static. The image was then stamped randomly over top with Versamark. I sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder and then heat set it. I think it’s pretty cool!
The image was matted on Night of Navy cardstock and some Square Ice Rhinestones decorate the corners. I don’t have any Rich Razzleberry ribbon(note: add to shopping list) so dyed it with the Rich Razzleberry Classic ink pad.
You’ll also notice something new on the River Rock piece, yes, a great new Embossing Folder from the Occasions Mini catalogue called Framed Tulips. The Occasions Mini goes live January 4, 2011. You’ll want to put this one on your wish list for sure!
