Yes, Christmas is a’coming and I like to get started on my Christmas Greeting cards early! I used this great sketch from MOJO Monday to inspire me and the gorgeous Deck the Halls Designer Series paper. You just can’t go wrong with this paper on your side.
I didn’t follow the sketch exactly – but that is what a sketch is for – to interpret in your own way. Besides, the Victoria Crochet Trim really deserves to be seen in all it’s finery!
I first cut out a circle on the Big Shot using the Circles #2 Die and then inked up a portion of the Christmas Collage background stamp(Holiday Mini page 20) with Always Artichoke Classic Ink. The circle was then laid over top of the inked portion to get the scroll image. Then, the number 25 was inked up with Cherry Cobbler classic ink and a square of Very Vanilla cardstock was laid over that. The Scallop Circle punch finished the job. I used a sponge dauber to colour the edges of both pieces and then, using Stampin’ Dimensionals attached the small scalloped circle to the center. The “tag” was made with the Circles#2 Die and the Scallop Circle #2 Die.
RECIPE:
Stamp Sets: Christmas Collage(121279), Occasional Quotes(120142)
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper(120810)
Ink: Always Artichoke Classic, Cherry Cobbler Classic
Accessories: Big Shot, Circles #2 Die, Scallop Circle #2 Die, 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, Victoria Crochet Trim, 5/8″ Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Sponge Dauber
As I said, I start making my Christmas cards early, my list is fairly long so I like to get ahead of things.
How many Holiday Cards are you planning on sending out this year? Leave a comment on this post telling me how long your Holiday Card list is this year. I’ll check back daily for your comments and then post the results of this mini-poll on September 16th. This should be fun, I’m looking forward to your participation.
Cheers for now;
