Happy Tuesday to you out there! Wow, it’s a short work week as this Friday is Canada Day!
I got right to work to create this card with a great stamp set called Glorious & Free! It has some great images in it and, of course, the famous Canadian maple leaf.
Canada’s official colours are red and white, so here it is with a card base of Real Red. I cut a piece of designer paper from the Patterns series and used the “stamping off” method to add those maple leaves in the background. (The stamping off method is simple – ink up your image stamp, then stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper and then onto your background.) Easy!
Then I inked up the maple leaf image again with Real Red classic ink and stamped it onto a 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Whisper White and matted it with Real Red cut to 2-3/8″ x 2-3/8″.
The small maple leaf on the sentiment oval was inked up with a Real Red Stampin’ Write marker and then stamped onto whisper white. I added the sentiment and cut it all out with the largest oval punch(2″ x 1-3/8″).
The ribbon accent was matted with a piece of Real Red cardstock cut with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.
