Happy Friday and Happy Canada Day to you.
It’s time to play along with the Stampaholic’s challenge for this week and Mitzi has supplied us with this great Scrapbook page sketch!
I promised you a project made with the “Glorious & Free” stamp set today……………and here it is!
Now, I have to admit that I went well over the 30 minute time frame for this page. Those letters slowed me down considerably, but they just had to be there! (Yes, I made them crooked on purpose)
The shield piece in the middle of the page comes from the Playful Polka Dots Simply Scrappin’ kit from the Summer Mini catalogue. I cut the shape out with my paper snips and then sponged the edges with Real Red classic ink so it would blend in with the page.
I wanted the flag to look like it was flying in the breeze so cut it with paper snips to give it that shape. The flag pole was created by cutting a 1/4″ strip of Basic Gray card stock and antiqued with the Distressing Essentials kit. The round top of the pole was simply cut out using the 1/2″ Circle punch. A piece of Baker’s Twine holds it all in place. The large white piece is sized for a 4″ x 5-1/2″ photo.
