Hello and it’s another good morning to you. Today’s card is for the Stampin’ Royalty challenge which is to feature “anything with wings” on our project.
I chose to use the bird on a branch image from Friends 24-7 as I’ve been listening to the winter birds chirping away in our trees. Hmmmmm, maybe spring is on it’s way? Nope, not any time soon up here in the northeastern part of British Columbia. We still have 2 months to go before we will see any green.
Anyway, on to my card. I’m especially happy with this one and used one of my favourite techniques, “stamping off”.
The flower images behind the bird were stamped several times with Baja Breeze classic ink, twice in full ink coverage, and twice with the “stamping off” technique. This gives a nice shadow effect to your image.
The bird was stamped over the flowers using Soft Suede classic ink and the “stamping off” technique. I then stamped him on a separate piece of Very Vanilla, cut him out with my paper snips and then placed him over top of the “shadow” image using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Here’s the recipe for the rest of the supplies I used on this card:
Stamp Set: Friends 24-7
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper(111833)
Ink: Soft Suede Classic(115657), Baja Breeze Classic(111833)
Accessories: Antique Brads(117273), 1/2″ Baja Breeze Seam Binding(122331), 1/2″ Very Vanilla Seam Binding(120999), Eyelet Border Punch(119853), 1″ Circle Punch Medium(119868), 1-1/4″ Circle Punch Large(119861), 1-3/8″ Circle Punch Large(119860), Stampin’ Dimensionals(104430)
