Yay, it’s Wednesday and time for the next letter in the WORD “PUMPKIN”. I had to really think about this letter “U” but thank heavens I have “Upsy Daisy” in my stamp drawer. Tsk tsk to me for not using it more often – it’s a great stamp set that can be used for almost any occasion.
I took inspiration from the Stamping 411 sketch and went to work.
I think I invented a new technique for this card – at least I haven’t seen it anywhere on the web so far – so I’m calling it the “blotting technique”.(If this is a technique that you have done, please let me know so I can give proper credit) It’s a little like the “rock and roll” technique but instead of just inking the edges of the image with darker ink, I simply touched the already inked up image in the darker ink pad to add some subtle highlights. Here’s a close-up for you.
The color choice is inspiration from the surrounding landscape with all of its beautiful and rich Autumn colors and, of course, the beautiful Spice Cake Designer Series paper. The Big Shot just had to play for this one and helped me create the daisy flower as a simple accent.
I added a mat to the sentiment by adhering the punch sentiment to a scrap of More Mustard card stock and simply trimming it carefully with Paper Snips.
