Good Morning and welcome to the 3rd week of WORD Wednesday for March. I am highlighting the word “SALE” this month and today’s letter is “L”.
My wonderful father will be celebrating his 90th birthday soon and the whole family is gathering together to help him celebrate this excellent milestone!
The card needed to show the featured stamp set and I also wanted it to show a few highlights of his wonderful life. So, I chose the stamp set, Love You Much(Idea Book & Catalogue #113756) Here is my card…………………….
…. I felt that it should tell Dad’s story and am very happy with the result. Here are a few snippets for you; Dad is a Veteran of the Second World War and served overseas, he is a retired teacher and always wears trousers rather than jeans. He seldom leaves the house without a hat on his head and he plays a mean piano! His love of his family is never-ending!
I stamped the greeting image from Love You Much with Not Quite Navy Craft ink and then heat embossed it with Clear Emboss powder. The letters are a “line image” so I colored them with a Baja Breeze Stampin’ Write Marker.
The Antique brad replaces the flower and is a pretty close copy of the buttons one would find on a Canadian Air Force uniform.
I also used my Crimper tool – funny how this tool adds so much interest and has been so little used in my stamp room! This was one of my very first purchases from Stampin’ Up!
I needed some special notes for the inside of the card and since my Dad has a great sense of humor, felt that he would enjoy these two quotes from the stamp set, Smarty Pants.
OK, do you like? I sure do and am pretty confident that Dad will too.
