Welcome to my blog and welcome to Thursday. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with a new Hostess stamp set and needed to make just one more card with it.
The set is called A Slice of Life and I used it in yesterday’s post. There are quite a few cute images to use and today’s card incorporates two of them.
The post title should give you a hint. What color’s to use? The Paper Players have an interesting color challenge for this week, so why not……..
…..and MOJO Monday has a great sketch.
So, how do you combine the two? Like this………
Cake & Coffee with several good friends is the way to go I always say! I had a little fun playing with my collection of Stampin’ Write Markers for this and the First Edition Designer Series paper gives the illusion that reading the newspaper may also go along with cake and coffee.
It started with a card base of Crumb Cake(fits the thought-don’t you think LOL) and was layered with Cajun Craze and a piece of the First Edition designer paper.
The focal image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black, a permanent outline for coloring. The candles were stamped separately, cut out and placed just so with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
The line of “ribbon” is actually a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut and pasted to look like ribbon. The bow, however, is the real deal and was made with Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding from the Occasions Mini catalogue. It’s a different color combination but I rather like it.
RECIPE: Stamp Sets: A Slice of Life(121952), So Happy For You(SAB 123220) Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, First Edition Designer Series Paper(121878)

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card – check on back tomorrow for the Stamp-A-Holics challenge and another take on the A Slice of Life stamp set.
Until then, happy stamping.
