Good morning and welcome! As I was checking my stamp inventory, I realized that I haven’t used Fabulous Florets from the Summer Mini catalogue for quite a while. It seemed like the perfect set to use for this week’s Stamping 411 challenge.
I also decided to use two of the New In Colors for this card and ended up with a study in shades of blue(Island Indigo and Pool Party) and yellow.
Actually the yellow is So Saffron, a great color to use as a subtle accent. The Designer paper is from Beyond the Garden(available both in the Summer Mini catalogue and the New 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue)!
I started by inking up the flower stamp with Pool Party classic ink and stamping it all over the 3″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock. I then stamped the same flower onto another piece of Whisper White in Pool Party Classic ink and added 2 more using Island Indigo Classic Ink. They were then over stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
At this point I decided that a spray of leaves were needed, so stamped the leaf spray with Lucky Limeade Classic Ink(new In Color) and then embossed it as well. All of these pieces were cut out with Paper Snips and arranged and adhered to the background piece.
I used the Scallop Edge Border punch for the border piece and added some texture with the Big Shot and Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
