Do you know someone who love to sew? Recently I found a picture of a card shaped like a spool of thread and just had to create my own copy.
So your seamstress friend has just made you an awesome quilt and this card would make a dynamite thank you – don’t you think!
I used the background stamp Hardwood inked up with Soft Suede and stamped onto Sahara Sand cardstock. I think that combination gives a great wood look. The spool shape was cut out using the Envelope Punch Board.
Directions: Cut card stock to 3-3/4″ x 11″, score at 5-1/2″. Place folded card in Envelope Punch Board at 1-1/4″ line and punch. Flip over and do other side. Repeat with other end. Trim off extra between notches to create spool shape.
Notice the measuring tape – I created that with a 5/8″ wide strip of very vanilla cardstock and the number from the Project Life Day to Day photopolymer stamp set. And, a little sponging gave it the well-used look! I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.
