STAMPIN’ UP PLAYING WITH FABRIC

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by. Today the Stamp-A-Holics are Recycling and we invite you to join us for this 45-minute challenge. Just take out those containers you have tucked away and give them a whole new look.

I had these two pretty jars sitting on a shelf and decided to create a pretty spring look for them.

I’ve been playing with Stampin’ Up’s! beautiful Springtime Vintage Fabric and the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets. First, I cut 2 pieces from the fabric to 5-1/2″ x 6″ and then layered a piece of the adhesive sheet cut to the same size on the back of the fabric. These pieces were then placed on the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die and run through the Big Shot. I also cut the same flower shapes from pieces of Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

The adhesive sheet was then peeled from the flower pieces and attached to the matching cardstock pieces. The back of each flower piece was sponged with matching classic ink. I built the flowers from these pieces and added a button from the Springtime Vintage Designer buttons for the center of each flower.

Then I “crunched” them a bit as shown in the picture below.

The next step was to add a stem and I used bamboo skewers for that. Hmmmm, how to attach them? I used Sticky Strip for this and then cut another flower piece from cardstock and layered it over top. See picture below.

Then I decided that a label was needed and used You’re A Gem from the Occasions Mini catalogue for the sentiment. The flowers were attached to the jars with those super-tough Mini Glue Dots and a length of coordinating Seam Binding added a pretty bow.
